校旗旗面颜色以白色为底色，继承发扬儒释道三位一体的优秀传统文化，蕴含学校崇尚朴实高洁、尊贵包容的道德品质，求真务实、勤勉自强的精神作风；主体造型由校徽和四条蔚蓝色带组成，四条蔚蓝色带彰显学校“四品”校风和把握信息时代机遇、瞄准信息产业变革、凝炼应用型特色、培养信息技术人才的追求。

HNUIT Flag

    With white color as the background, HNUIT flag inherits and promotes the excellent traditional culture of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism.It demonstrates the moral character of simplicity, dignity, and tolerance, as well as its spirit of seeking truth, being practical and diligent. The flag consists of the university emblem and four sky-blue stripes which symbolize that HNuIT insists on carrying forward the slogan offour qualities” and “four goals”, namely seizing the opportunity of information age, adapting to the information evolution, developing application-oriented majors and training professional talents of information technology
